The recorder is one of the most well known instruments for novice musician.

I have seen many parents cringe when I tell them I teach the recorder. Yes, it can be a nightmare to listen to…if your children don’t know how to play it! But trust me, you will be doing them a service if you let them have even a term worth of lessons.

The recorder is a key instrument to learn before going on to learn other woodwind instruments.

I'm sure you've all heard the recorder...but have you heard it play like this??

What are the requirements?

  • You will need a recorder and a music book that will be on your enrolment confirmation.
  • It is suggested that you also get a music stand.

What am I going to get out of the lessons?

  • You will be able to play the recorder.
  • You will understand how to control your breath while playing a woodwind instrument. This is easiest to learn on a recorder.
  • You will gain great hand-eye co-ordination as you learn to cover up various holes on the recorder while reading music.

What is the recommended age for learning the recorder?

  • Recorder lessons are for anyone from 5 to 105. You don’t even have to know music before taking lessons, just a willingness to learn how to play an instrument.
