I am very excited to have finally launched my new website design after almost a full 4 months in development! You’ll see things are looking pretty spiffy around here.
Admittedly, I was a little bit shy to the idea of getting an entire website made at first because I knew what a large undertaking it would be. To design, create, and come up with branding and content was a huge learning experience, for sure. It has helped me grow and develop my brand and business.
A few of my goals with the new website were to make it fast, professional, easy to navigate for users, and easy for me to manage/update. Most of all, I wanted to help potential parents get to know me better. If you take a gander around the site, I think you’ll get a pretty good idea of who I am and what I do as a tutor.
The other part would be WordPress – which truly is the most amazing content management system out there today. I am really thankful to be a part of such an awesome community. If you aren’t using WordPress for your website – I definitely recommend you put it in your plans because it gets better with every release.
I also want to highlight some of the harder parts about doing this launch. Probably the hardest was trying to keep my developer fed with information and feedback while trying to launch the physical aspects of the tutoring business. It also can feel like it is taking a very long time to complete – almost like it may never happen. If you’re in the middle of a project like that, I would say keep going even when you feel like you’ll never finish, because if you stop – well, that’s the only way you won’t finish! Eventually, if you keep working hard when you can find the time, it does come to a point where you feel like you’re ready to launch. It’s a pretty good feeling knowing that I am now reaching parents of this generation that want to learn music!
